Retail Versus Custom Built Computer System
Business Computer Resources, Inc. has been providing business and professionals with custom-built computer systems since 1984.  The systems utilize Intel main boards and processors, configured to be the most reliable and efficient systems in the industry.  Systems specifically built for businesses are competitively priced compared to those from retail stores and offer advantages. Typical retail systems are designed for home use and are usually loaded with trial versions of software from third parties to reduce the cost of producing these systems.  This is called bloatware that occupies hard drive space and slows down processing.

Why Windows 7 Professional?
Most businesses either have or plan to install a server at some point.  A true server can provide better security, with company policies assigned by individual or by group policy controls.  Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions are designed to join a domain quickly and more securely.
.
Remote Desktop Connection
Remote Desktop connects two computers over a network or the Internet. Once connected, you will see the remote computer's desktop as if you were sitting right in front of it, and have access to all its programs and files.  This feature is included with all editions of Windows 7, but you can only connect to computers running the Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise editions.

Advanced Backup and Restore (Network Backup and Group Policy)
Backup and Restore—improved for Windows 7—creates safety copies of your most important personal files, so you're always prepared for the worst. Let Windows choose what to back up, or pick individual folders, libraries, and drives yourself. Windows can back up files on whatever schedule you choose—just set it and forget it. You can back up to another drive or a DVD. And if you're using the Professional or Ultimate editions of Windows 7, you'll also have the option of backing up your files to a network.

Encrypting File System
Encrypting File System (EFS) is a feature of Windows that you can use to store information on your hard disk in an encrypted format. Encryption is the strongest protection that Windows provides to help you keep your information secure.
Some key features of EFS:
  • Encrypting is simple; just select a check box in the file or folder's properties to turn it on.
  • You have control over who can read the files.
  • Files are encrypted when you close them, but are automatically ready to use when you open them.
  • If you change your mind about encrypting a file, clear the check box in the file.
Offline Files
Offline files offer several advantages if you work with files stored in shared network folders. By working with offline files, you can:
  • Remain unaffected by network outages. When you use offline files, it doesn't matter if your network goes down or the network folder you are accessing becomes unavailable. If either occurs, Windows automatically opens offline copies of files stored on your computer instead of the files on the network folder, and you can continue working without interruption.
  • Work with files while you are away from the network. When you're disconnected from the network, you normally can't open any files stored on the network. With offline files, you can disconnect from the network and still have copies of all the network files you've made available offline. This is particularly useful if you travel with a laptop.
  • Easily sync with network files. Anytime you want to sync with the latest version of files in a network folder, you can do so with the click of a button.
  • Boost your efficiency when working over a slow connection. When you are connected to a network with a slow connection, working with files in a shared network folder can be inefficient and slow. To speed things up, you can easily switch to working with offline copies of your network files at any time.

Intel® vPro™ Technology

Managing and protecting desktops and laptops and securing data are among the great challenges for modern businesses. The 2nd generation Intel® Core™ vPro™ processor family with the hardware-based security and manageability of Intel® vPro™ technology simplifies and accelerates these critical IT functions.  Intel® vPro™ technology is a set of security and manageability capabilities built into the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ vPro™ processor family, Intel® chipsets, and network adapters.

Intel® AMT provides remote management and maintenance capabilities that enable IT professionals to query, fix and protect networked embedded devices, even when they’re powered off, not responding or have software issues. What’s more, Intel vPro technology helps perform remote asset tracking and checks the presence of management agents virtually anytime. The technology provides the means to remotely turn devices on/off to reduce energy consumption during non-peak operating times.

Intel® VT speeds up the transfer of platform control and the movement of data between different operating systems running on a virtualized platform. By lowering the workload on the virtualization software (i.e., VMM), Intel VT increases system performance and reliability. With virtualization, embedded developers can more easily migrate legacy software, consolidate functions and applications, and increase real-time performance.

Intel® TXT protects embedded devices and virtual environments against rootkit and other system level attacks. Using an industry-standard TPM 1.2 device to store keys and other protected data, Intel vPro technology boots the BIOS, operating system and software into a “trusted” execution state, verifying the integrity of the virtual machine and protecting the platform from unauthorized access.

IT departments spend much of their time and budgets on PC patching, troubleshooting and repair, software inventories, and maintenance, preventing them from addressing key issues and initiatives that can help the business be more efficient and grow. With Intel® vPro™ technology, IT can reduce deskside visits by up to 56 percent improve laptop inventories by up to 47 percent, and accelerate patch saturation up to 56 percent faster.
